More Miss Macomb contestants visit Prestige Radio

MACOMB- Five more Miss Macomb 2012 pageant contestants stopped by the WLMD 104.7 studios Thursday to tell the world why they deserve to win the pageant and the scholarships that come with it.

Maggie Dexter is from Macomb and this is her second year in the pageant. This year, she will be talking about self-esteem.

Rachel Shriver comes to Macomb from Ursa and she tells us what her performance and platform will be at tomorrow night’s pageant.

The other contestants that stopped by Thursday were Danielle Eckels of Algonquin, Krista Shirley of Wasburn, and Olivia Younger of Moweaqua.

All of Thursday’s guests go to Western Illinois University.

They will be joined on stage by Courtnie Hamelton of Macomb, Rajanee’ Gray of O’Fallon, and Amanda Kay Kester of Byron.

The pageant takes place Saturday at Macomb High School’s Fellheimer Auditorium at 7:30 in the evening.

The winner will receive a scholarship and a chance to become Miss Illinois later this summer.

Last year’s Miss Macomb was Megan Ervin, who finished as the 1st runner-up in the Miss Illinois pageant.

She will be competing for the Miss Illinois title once again because she recently won the Miss Quincy competition.
